Work with individuals, families, communities and the governments to respect human life in all forms and stages, treasure cultural heritages and values, and promote a safe, inclusive and supporting environment for the disadvantaged sections of the society to feel valued, strive and contribute to nation building process.
Our Objectives
The works of Mizpah Community Services are in the following key areas:
- Supporting women’s right for a safe environment at home, at work and in the community
- Supporting the children and youth members of our society to be contributing citizens of this great nation and guardians of our great cultural, ethical and social values and heritage.
- Creating opportunities for men to walk an extra mile to support women, children and youth to be independent, equal and valued members of the society.
- Support indigenous, migrant, religious and ethnic minority groups to integrate into Australian societies without loosing their cultural, ethnic, and religious identities, heritage and values.
- Promote the value of human-life in all forms and stages of development.
- Create opportunities for indigenous, migrant, religious and ethnic minority groups and communities preserve, practice and perform their traditional forms of arts, customs, and other forms of celebrations including the observation of days and events of importance.
Our Activities
Workshops, Seminars and Trainings
Mizpah Community Services will organise workshops, seminars, trainings and other academic activities to build awareness and response-capacity among community members and general public about various issues affecting their welfare and wellbeing. These events may contribute to the advancement of more than one objective at a time.
Documenting and Training on folklores, forms of traditional ethnic arts and knowledge
Mizpah Community Services will work with the members of the community, especially from the ethnic, linguistic and religious minorities to document, preserve, practice and promote the traditional knowledge, recipes, forms or arts and other valuables like folklores. Mizpah Community Services will specially work with the elders in the community to document and preserve their knowledge and with the younger members of the community to support their efforts to learn and practice their original cultural heritage.
Campaigns and Public Awareness Building Activities
Mizpah Community Services will undertake online and offline community campaigns aimed at promotion of knowledge and awareness on critical issues impacting the life and welfare of the members of the community as well as the civic life of our great nations. These would involve social media campaigns, public demonstrations, performances, or displays of electronic or other nature including hiring of bill boards.
Establishment of Community Resources
Mizpah Community Services will seek to establish and maintain community resources including training centres, short stay accommodation arrangements, meeting facilities, play grounds, transport and community access facilities including vehicles, libraries and other resources. While these resources will be primarily for the benefit of ethnic, linguistic, religious and cultural minorities, they will be open to public and at the service of the wider community without any discrimination in times of need.
Education, Employment and Family Support
Mizpah Community Services will support individuals and families with financial support, advice, referrals and linkages to make the best use of available opportunities in education, employment and to build a family in Australia. These services will be provided through qualified professionals where needed.
Charitable and Welfare Activities
Mizpah Community Services will distribute groceries, learning aids, books, mobility aids, household goods, clothes, and other goods in addition to food vouchers, grocery store gift cards and other forms of material and financial aid for community members to navigate tough times. Special care will be given to supporting victims of domestic violence or abuse, immigrants, victims of natural disasters, etc. These items will be distributed either directly to the benefactors or through other community organisations like the Vinnies and the Salvos.
